Headaches and Migraines

Headache and Migraine Treatment with our Summerlin Chiropractor

Woman waking up with a headache

If you live in or near Las Vegas or Summerlin, NV, and are suffering with headaches or migraines, the staff of Red Rock Chiropractic wants to show you our natural treatments. Headaches can be of various types. You may experience head pain when you are in a stressful situation, are overworked or overtired. These feel like a dull, achy, frustrating pain. Other headaches can be sinus related and may be located more on your forehead or face. Headaches can appear in clusters and last for a few minutes or a few days, depending on the severity. The main difference between a headache and a migraine is the additional symptoms that often accompany a migraine. You may feel intense headaches along with feelings of nausea, fatigue and sensitivity to light, sound and smells. If these symptoms sound similar to those you are dealing with, Dr. Maggie Colucci, our chiropractor in Las Vegas, encourages you to schedule an appointment to learn about our headache and migraine relief care plans.

Chiropractic Care for Headaches and Migraines

Dr. Colucci evaluates your spine and then listens to your symptoms to determine the ideal chiropractic approach to bring you immediate relief. If your spine is misaligned, it may be straining muscles in your neck and back which can lead to tension and headaches. Other concerns with spinal misalignments are an interruption of nerve and circulation flow to your head. Dr. Colucci looks for these causes and others such as a recent personal injury such as whiplash or a concussion, spinal abnormalities such as scoliosis and poor posture that could be contributing to your pain. Our migraine and headache relief treatments include:

  • Chiropractic adjustments- Dr. Colucci gently adjusts your spine to position the vertebrae in a way that reduces muscle tension and nerve impingement. These adjustments, when you are consistent with your care, reduce the frequency and intensity of your headache and migraine episodes. Many of our clients feel relief following their first adjustment while others require a series of adjustments before the body relaxes and remains in a healthier posture.
  • Lifestyle changes- if we find a stressful situation, overwork or poor posture is contributing to your migraines, we talk with you about small changes you can make. When you are able to reduce stress, you help your neck and shoulders relax which reduces muscle tension and your headache frequency.
  • Nutritional support- for some people who suffer from migraines and headaches, food choices are a controllable factor. In other words, certain foods can trigger your condition, so we show you which foods are better choices.
